What is included

Records, evidence
and a way back.

Local ledger
Create trackables, record a next step and retain their history. Records stay on your computer by default.
Bounded checks
Compare supplied lead exports or supported saved text and JSON. A match establishes only the stated scope, not the whole real-world outcome.
Recovery tools
Export records, create local snapshots and test an encrypted account-recovery file. Keep an additional protected copy off the device.
Outside this preview
Hosted sync, an always-on worker, billing, a signed EXE, a general document workspace and accepted live provider links.

Installation and first record

Start small.
Keep a way back.

Your first goal is a sample record you can close, reopen and recover.

  1. Extract the whole ZIP

Choose a new folder. Open Install.cmd from the extracted files.

  2. Open the desktop icon

Create your local account. Keep the original username and password safely; there is no hosted reset service.

  3. Save a sample record and test recovery

Reopen the app and check the record is still there. In “Protect my ledger,” create a recovery file and test it. Keep its passphrase and your original local login credentials.

Command-line installation

With Node.js 24 installed, run these commands from the folder containing the downloaded CLI archive:

npm install --global ./mytrackables-local-service-0.6.1-preview.1.tgz --offline --ignore-scripts --no-audit --no-fund
mytrackables start
mytrackables status

Use a user-writable npm prefix. From the ZIP, you can also run node scripts/cli.mjs start without a global installation. No registry account is needed.

Use mytrackables --help for data-folder, port, backup and replay options.

Check that the download matches this release

Compare the downloaded file’s SHA-256 value with the checksums for this version.

Windows PowerShell:

Get-FileHash .\MyTrackables-0.6.1-preview.1.zip -Algorithm SHA256

Linux:

sha256sum MyTrackables-0.6.1-preview.1.zip

A matching checksum checks that you received these bytes. It is not a publisher signature or security certification.

Release status

Clear about
what is ready.

Prior checks
The supplied release records 86 automated service and CLI checks passing on Linux, plus offline installation and packaged-app smoke checks. This is not an independent security audit.
Still to accept
Windows setup and recovery, real browser interactions, keyboard and screen-reader use, and an off-device restore.

Common questions

Does my ledger leave my computer?

The default app stores it locally and includes no analytics or advertising trackers. Exported files go where you save them. Setup may contact nodejs.org to download the runtime. Website hosts process normal download requests.

Live Gmail is disabled by default and remains unaccepted. Read the local app’s data behavior for details.

Is “Refresh dashboard” cloud sync?

No. It reloads saved local work. This version does not sync across devices or check sources while your computer is asleep.

Are my backups already off-device?

No. Automatic snapshots stay on the same computer. Keep an additional protected recovery copy on another device or backup service and test it. Your recovery passphrase and original local login credentials are both important.
